Letter From The Mayor
Dear
Resident,
As
you know, we had a depression that occurred last week
at 32 Morton Place at the home of one of our neighbors.
Because
of our past experiences with mine subsidence in this area
of the community, we are taking every step to find out
exactly the cause of the depression before making any
hasty decisions. Download

State Awards Borough $125,000
Grant
NORTH
ARLINGTON - New Jersey Senator Garry Furnari (D-36) announced
the Department of Environmental Protection has awarded
North Arlington $125,000 under the Statewide Livable Communities
Program (LC).
The
grant will fund the extension of Rusignola Park onto a
piece of property formerly owned by Sorce Brothers. The
park is located along the Passaic River on River Road.
The
Statewide Livable Communities Program was designed by
Governor Jim McGreevey to assist local communities in
meeting their recreational and open space objectives.
"This
funding will ensure that open space can be acquired without
burdening local taxpayers," said Furnari.
Mayor
Russ Pitman called the state's commitment to open space
acquisition and preservation important to suburban communities
with few open space options.
"North
Arlington needs to retain it's small town appeal by preserving
and restoring any open space opportunity that may exist.
It's a strategy that will retain home values and continue
to make North Arlington a wide residential investment,"
said the Mayor.
