MAZZOLLA TO RUN AS TICKET IN UPCOMING SCHOOL BOARD RACE

Commissioner and Youth Director expected to receive
support of Mayor Pitman and the Democrats
NORTH
ARLINGTON - A former North Arlington public school teacher
and Recreation Commissioner have filed petitions to
run in the upcoming school elections to be held in April.
Nicholas
Mazzolla, an employee of the Newark school district
and the borough's Recreation Youth Director will
team with borough resident Fred Frato, a Recreation
Commissioner, homeowner and father of three children.
Frato,
an Iford Avenue homeowner is employed as a union glazer.
He is married with three children and is active in the
borough's various recreational programs including Little
League, boys basketball, junior Viking's football and
was appointed by Mayor Russ Pitman to the community
Recreation Commission succeeding Councilman Steve Tanelli.
"Fred
Frato is a great community leader and family man. I
have every confidence he will do an exceptional job
of increasing test scores and putting students first,"
observed Councilman Steve Tanelli. "I've had the
opportunity to serve with Fred and Nick on the Recreation
Commission and I truly believe they will do an excellent
job of turning around the district in the face of these
declining test scores," said Tanelli.
