FRATO, MAZZOLLA TO RUN AS TICKET IN UPCOMING SCHOOL BOARD RACE

Recreation Commissioner and Youth Director expected to receive support of Mayor Pitman and the Democrats

NORTH ARLINGTON - A former North Arlington public school teacher and Recreation Commissioner have filed petitions to run in the upcoming school elections to be held in April.

Nicholas Mazzolla, an employee of the Newark school district and the borough's Recreation Youth Director will team with borough resident Fred Frato, a Recreation Commissioner, homeowner and father of three children.

Frato, an Iford Avenue homeowner is employed as a union glazer. He is married with three children and is active in the borough's various recreational programs including Little League, boys basketball, junior Viking's football and was appointed by Mayor Russ Pitman to the community Recreation Commission succeeding Councilman Steve Tanelli.

"Fred Frato is a great community leader and family man. I have every confidence he will do an exceptional job of increasing test scores and putting students first," observed Councilman Steve Tanelli. "I've had the opportunity to serve with Fred and Nick on the Recreation Commission and I truly believe they will do an excellent job of turning around the district in the face of these declining test scores," said Tanelli.
